Axis & Allies

WHAT What is the main theme, story or key idea?
Axis & Allies is a strategic war game set during WW2 where 2 – 5 players take on the role of one of the five Axis or Allied powers consisting of Germany, Japan, the Soviet Union, the United States and the United Kingdom. Players will take the fight to enemies on land, sea and air through using a variety of miniatures representing infantry, tanks, bombers and even submarines.
HOWHow do the key mechanics and ideas work?
On a players turn they will build, deploy, manoeuvre and command armies across the globe in order to take back territory from the opposing side. Either the Axis or Allies will win the game once they have control of 9 major cities. To gain a victory city, players must first liberate cities they use to control or capture cities previously belonging to the opposing forces.
WHY Why is Axis & Allies worth your time?
Axis & Allies is an epic, tense and dramatic miniatures war game which surprisingly for a game of this scope, is quite simple to learn. As a result, this is an excellent starting point for players to dip their toes in a tactical and strategic war game. The setting and theme is excellently realised and it genuinely feels different to play as each of the 5 playable nations.
