Terraforming Mars

WHAT What is the main theme, story or key idea?
In Terraforming Mars, 1 - 5 players will attempt to tame the red planet as various corporations compete to terraform Mars into a habitable planet. Build your economy, execute huge projects and transform the planet!
HOWHow do the key mechanics and ideas work?
Whilst playing as a corporation, players will purchase and play cards which represent different projects. Most projects relate to terraforming but can also represent other business ventures to enhance profits. For players to win, they need to have accumulated a strong terraform rating and many victory points – awarded for enhancing mankind’s grip on the solar system. The game board tracks temperature, oxygen level, terraform rating and the number of generations that have passed in this epic endeavour to put man on Mars
WHY Why is Terraforming Mars worth your time?
It’s a strategy eurogame with a strong theme that has many different playstyles depending on which corporation players are assigned. There’s a lot on offer here and impressively its a game that works just as well for 1 player - it’s an excellent addition to a tabletop collection.
